In 2008 I discovered digital scrapbooking. Boy, was I excited. I was terrible at traditional paper scrapping, always wanting to move items around or remove them completely. Plus it was addicting to go to the scrap stores and want to buy every single element pack or paper! So I started collecting freebies and played around a bit in Photoshop. At the time I was a Photoshop virgin and my husband had a degree in Media Arts so he showed me the ropes. In Dec of 2008 I applied to a creative team call for Ginger of Gingerscraps. She accepted me and helped me learn. I also became a CT member for Polka Dot Plum and Sunshine Studio Scraps.
Right around Christmastime that year, I decided to try my hand at designing. I created my very first snowman after reading a tutorial, and gave it away as a freebie during a speed scrap. When I created my first spring themed kit in 2009 it was a cute kit, but it still needed work. Ginger helped me learn how to create textures and depth to my papers and elements. She then decided to expand her store. Ginger took me and several other newbie designers under her wing.
Since my venture into design, I've sold at Gingerscraps, Stuff to Scrap, and Funky Playground Designs. I am currently exclusive at Funky Playground Designs. I've also collab'd with some fantastic designers, Wyld Web Designs, Teri's Thing O My Jigs, Daybreak Scraps, Jen Yurko, Spinky Dink Scraps, Scrappin' Serenity, Scraps of Ellay, Girl Boy Girl Designs, and Ruby Lane. I love creating glitter too, I think it's my niche :)
I create my kits and glitter in Photoshop CS5, Illustrator, and Art Rage 2.5.
I'm also a contributor to the Examiner. You can visit my page here.
