CU Grab Bag & Layout Templates!

In a few days we will be joining the rest of my husband's family at the annual reunion. We are psyched! I see lots of swimming in the near future :)

photo enhanced using actions from My4Hens

I know I usually do my releases on Wednesdays but I just couldn't help enabling these products right now. I absolutely fell in love creating them. I had a request to bring back my Mega CU Glitters and instead, I created a new set - 10 styles & sheets - which you can find in this neat little grab bag. All of the items in the grab bag are for commercial use and you'll find 4 handy dandy products at your designing disposal. There's glitter, layered paper templates, overlays, and some doodles. Want a sneak peek? Head over to the store and click "additional images" to see each product's preview.

The ($17 value!) Commercial Use Grab Bag No. 1 will be available for just $5 through July 5th. After that, everything will be unpacked and sold separately in the store. **

I've also spent some time perusing my CT, Adriana's lovely layout gallery. (You may know her as dricamendes in the forums). Adriana has a beautiful gallery and I really admire her style as a digital layout artist. So much so, that I've created a set of layout templates inspired by her own LOs! This set includes 4 layered templates so you too can create layouts similar to Adriana's style.

Check out a few of the layouts from which the templates were based:

And here's what my creative team did with them:

Christie Dawn (using Tweet Tweet)

Missi (using Lola)

Trina (using Everyday Happenings recolored - Suess elements not included)

You can pick up this pack for only $3.99 in my store at Funky Playground Designs

Are you a Facebook Fan yet? Yesterday I gave out a whole day of codes for fans to use. If you're not a fan, sign up and don't miss out on exclusive discounts, sales, and freebies!

National Wildlife Federation Charity Collab!

Dawn of Daybreak Scraps had an idea to do a charity collab to benefit NWF and it has arrived at Funky Playground Designs!

All Creatures Great and Small is a charity collaboration to benefit the National Wildlife Federation and is exclusively available for sale at Funky Playground Designs through July 18th.

According to the National Wildlife Federation:
Millions of gallons of oil have oozed into the water since the April 20th rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Some estimates calculate the oil flow to be over 70,000 barrels of oil a day—making the BP spill already eight times larger than Exxon Valdez!

And we still don't know when it will stop.

The wildlife casualties are adding up. Oil has officially hit land, and numerous sea turtles, dolphins and migratory birds have all been reported dead or dying on gulf beaches. Sadly, this is just the beginning of the uphill battle wildlife in the region now face.

Please donate today to help protect the over 400 species of treasured wildlife that stand to lose so much from this devastating tragedy. Your support will go right to work protecting wildlife and wild places impacted by the BP oil spill disaster.
The profits from the sale of this collaboration will go directly to the National Wildlife Federation and the receipt will be posted on the Funky Playground blog after the donation has been made.

Contributing Designers are: 4 Shades of Blue, Caged Bird Designs, Daybreak Scraps, Ellie Lash, Edeline Marta Designs, EH Studios, Girl Boy Girl Designs by Jen Balding, Jaclyn Bernardo, Jennilyn Designs, Kiss This Designs, Mad Genius Designs, Michelle Batton, Scrappin' Daisies Designs, Secret Garden, Shanmomto4 Designs and Siamese Studio.

Layout Of The Week

This week I found a LO that really stood out to me and is absolutely beautiful. It was created using Misty's new Salt Water Mini Kit that you can get over at Funky Playground Designs. With its nice soft colors it is ideal for a variety of different LO's. This one was created by our own CT Member Missi. I just think her blending is terrific and then the three bright photos going down the side and the glitter border, it is all just fantastic. It all came together so nicely. Great job Missi!!!

While you are here visiting Misty's blog why don't you sign up for her newsletter and also head on over to Facebook and "Like" her page. You will get exclusive freebies, sneak peeks and more.

Facebook Fan!

It's time to spotlight another of Misty's Facebook Fans. Today, I want to introduce you to Juli!! My name is Juli. I am from Seattle, WA. I have been married for 3 years to my best friend. We just bought our first house in November and have just started some construction that will make it soooooo great! :) Currently, I teach 6th grade science at my old middle school. Yes, that is weird sometimes, but next year will be my 4th year teaching, so I am kind of used to it! My husband and I do not have any kids yet, but are really hoping for a little one soon.

How long have you been digi scrapping?
I have been scrapping since October of 2008. WOW, can't believe it! I am better than I was, but I still have sooooo much to learn! Clustering and making LOs look complete are my weak points.

How did you discover Misty's designs?
One of the designers I CT for did a collab with Misty. It was called Just Married.

What is your favorite kit of Misty's?
I honestly do not own too many, so I will say Just Married. It is a superb kit!!

How would you describe your scrapping style?
I like white space LOs which drives my husband crazy! Templates are my best friend!!

What's the one scrapbooking item you can't live without?
Templates. I like to use them as a jumping off point. They help with ideas on where to put the elements to help keep the page balanced.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hmm, actually right here in WA. I absolutely LOVE it here. Although, Redondo Beach, CA is absolutely gorgeous as well and it is close to Disneyland which is a huge plus!

What's your favorite movie?
While You Were Sleeping. My best friend and I can quote pretty much the whole movie. So good!

What's your favorite book?

That is hard! I love reading so I have sooo many favorites. The book I have read the most though is a kids book called "From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler." I absolutely love that book and I can't really explain why!

Julie also shared her favorite layout made with "Just Married"!!

If you would like to see more of Juli's work and learn a little more about her you can visit her blogs:
My personal blog - juliandbrett.blogspot.com
My scrapping blog - scrappinwithjuli.blogspot.com

Thanks for being our spotlight Juli!

And if you haven't already, make sure you become a fan of Misty's designs on Facebook!! We want to spotlight you!!

Lola!

How did everyone's weekend go? We did something adventurous! We drove an hour and a half north of town to a drive in theater. I had never been to a drive in before and this is the last one near us. There used to be at least 3 of them in our town but they're all long gone. We packed up our two boys, loaded the car with blankets, snacks, and toys and headed out. The show started at 9:30pm and we watched The Bounty Hunter (Jennifer Anniston movie). They had us turn our FM station to a specified number to get the sound of the movie in the car. We didn't want to risk using our car battery for two hours so we brought a portable radio. The kids were great for us and we had a ton of fun. The pic above is of the screen before it got dark and before the lot filled up. We were there an hour early. There were two shows playing that night, the next one being the Bruce Willis movie, Cop Out, but we had an hour and half ride home so we left at 11:45pm after the first show. And get this! We decided to stop and get a geocache on the way home and while Dan was out looking in a field, two state patrol officers pulled up behind me wondering what was going on! Luckily one of the officers was a geocacher so there wasn't much explaining I had to do on my part. Lastly, on the way home, there was a deer in the middle of the road. Thank God for our eagle eyes! I drove 45 most of the way home instead of 60 since I was pretty much the only one on the road. I am terrified of hitting deer. We got home at 1:45am and the kids slept the whole way back. It was a pretty awesome experience and I can't wait to do it again. Next time we should just camp out!

Now for the scrapping news!
I have a new kit and glitter set available today :) As of June 1st, I went exclusive at Funky Playground Designs! This is now the only store where you can get my designs. You should also sign up for my awesome newsletter too, the subscribers are privy to exclusive sneak peeks, coupon codes, and freebies!

Back to the new release - Lola is my first girly kit. I have two boys so I never really had the motivation to create a pink kit, but I love color palettes featuring brown and pink together so here it went:

My CT and the FPD site CT have created some beautiful layouts:

If you create a layout, make sure to upload it to the FPD gallery! My CT choose 2 layouts a month to featuring on this blog and the layout artists receive $3.00 to my store. So go upload all of your layouts featuring my products!

Also new in the store is a really cool collab from the FPD designers.

Each of Good Morning Sunshine's 13 mini-kits has it's own refreshing, sunshine theme. You can use them individually or you can mix them up for a variety of sensational layouts to suit your needs because they were all designed using the same color palette (shown in the preview)!

What a fantastic way to get a sampling of what our designers have to offer! The contributing designers are: 4 Shades of Blue, Charlize Creations (June Guest), Daybreak Scraps, Fe Marni Designs, Girl Boy Girl Designs, Jennilyn Designs, Michelle Batton, Misty O'Brien Designs, Ruby Lane, Secret Garden, Shanmomto4 Designs, Siamese Studio, and Tracey Monette.

Good Morning Sunshine will only be available as a $3.00 Grab Bag from June 7 through June 20!
On June 21, we will be revealing the 12 mini-kits inside and increasing the price to $6.00 - which is still a tremendous bargain considering that averages out to just 50 cents a for each mini kit!

Have a great week! See you soon

Love and Happy Scrapping
