A Splash of Spring - The Elements

If you've visited the last two days, hopefully you picked up the free papers to A Splash of Spring, my first digi kit. Today, I'm blessing you with the elements to the kit!

Right now I'm working on a special add-on. I will be giving it away to everyone who creates a layout with my kit. On Sunday, I will post a special blogpost regarding the add-on freebie. All you have to do is create a layout, post it to a gallery, then leave a comment on Sunday's blogpost with the link your layout! Very easy. Tomorrow morning I will post the link to the alpha and tomorrow evening I will post the add-on preview.

For now, here are the elements for A Splash of Spring

Designing

I have been tackling the ins and outs of Photoshop for almost a year now. I feel like I am finally comfortable with designing digital scrapbooking kits. It's so great that there are other designers out there who create greyscale templates for commercial use purposes. I strive to be able to create at their level. I am almost almost done with my first kit. I need a name. It's a spring-like kit with some easter elements too. I'm also thinking about adding a few more papers because I started working outside my original color palette. Of course, I don't want to go overboard and use all my ideas on one shot.

I am really loving graphic design - maybe that's the career field I should have chosen in the first place!

Occasionally

Polka Dot Plum has a new kit, Occasionally.

Sharon, CT member, came up with a brilliant description of the kit:

"OCCASIONALLY you need a kit with a collection of floral patterns and elements, perhaps a plaid or dotted design. There will OCCASIONALLY be a call for basic unadorned papers and accessories. Red may be just the color you fancy, but OCCASIONALLY muted tones with just a few frills might fit the bill. Your project may necessitate a diverse mixture of ribbon, stitches, flairs, flowers, frames, notepaper, and OCCASIONALLY a simple or fancy journaling block. Whether you OCCASIONALLY scrap or are addicted, you will find OCCASIONALLY to be a kit you will go back to more than just OCCASIONALLY."

Here's my first LO:

You can pick this kit up at Sunshine Studio Scraps or Scrap Orchard.
And don't forget, PDPlum's CT has a Blog Train with Freebie Quick Pages from the Sensory Overload kit. The train starts at the Plum blog!

My Valentine

Tricia of Vintage Paris Princess has a beautiful kit called My Valentine that is available at her website. I love the soft colors and textures as well as the versatile elements. I used this kit for a LO of my son, so it has some masculine qualities as well (that aren't just tough trucks and mud!).

Garage Band King

Scrappy Cocoa is releasing her newest kit, Garage Band King! You have to visit her blog to pick it up for free all week long because after that it will be up for sale at Treasures to Scrap.

I loved the light colors in this kit. It was pretty versatile. As you can see, I went outside the box again and created a LO completely unrelated to the contents. I recolored some items and kept it pretty simple. Scrappy Cocoa's kits are amazing for being able to work for just about any kind of LO.

This is my sister and Evan, a friend of hers at AIS. Photos were taken by Dave Doumis. (Sorry Dave! I know I didn't do them justice).
